We awake to an overcast and damp morning compared to yesterday. We're planning on doing some hiking today – so thankfully it is forecast to dry up around midday.

We head down to breakfast and despite it being a public holiday weekend here in the United Kingdom – the hotel feels relatively quiet and there is no issue getting a table to eat.

At midday – we head out of our hotel and immediately pick up our planned trail across the road.

The route is well marked and easy to navigate.

We stop off plenty along the way to photography the moody landscape.

The route is clearly a popular one but not overly crowded and people tend to walk in their own groups – so it is not hard to enjoy the peace.

The route is well serviced and we stumble upon a little kiosk named "The Lake District Stop".

Before continuing along the trail, which mostly keeps us off the (admittedly quiet) roads.

Passing a lama farm – of all things!

And continuing the trail for a few more kilometres until we reach Keswick – where we had eaten last night.

Where we grab some lunch and a drink in one of the few places that had an available table in this busy town.

After a lazy lunch, we walk to a nearby bus stop and wait 20 minutes for a local bus that will drop us back outside our hotel.

Today, we walked a total of 9.7 km gaining 227 meters along an easy but enjoyable hike along the shores of Derwentwater.

No driving today, but we enjoyed both the walk and the photography.
