Day 7: Finishing the B500
Our goal today is to both finish the remaining section of the B500 road and to experience the wintery conditions that are forecast.
We pop back up to Baden-Baden and park beside a Porsche Panamera that is also wearing Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 tyres in a ND0 approved variant for the Panamera.
Parked side-by-side it was interesting to notice how much more of a prominent wheel protector our newer NA2 version has.

We grab lunch at the same place as yesterday.

Afterwards, we pick up the B500 in town and head south, in much more overcast conditions than we've had so far.

Passing plenty traffic speed cameras along the route. We don't use CarPlay so don't get forwarded about these.

Temperatures are hovering just below zero, and while it is not raining, the road surface is wet and slippy. Our 911 Targa detects this and switches us into "Wet" mode, reducing the torque to reduce the risk of breaking traction.

We climb up towards 1,000 metres.

Into the mist.

Plenty of locals enjoying the recent snow fall on the ski slopes.

We pull in to launch our drone and take a look at our surroundings.

The winter landscape envelops us in all directions, with the formidable B500 road cutting through it, its winding curves and steep gradients adding to its appeal.

It is windy at over 1,200 metres – so we take our final snaps and land the drone. Our car still looks clean from the air!

The fog intensifies.

Unlike many of the cars on the road, we activate our rear fog light when visibility reduces to less than 15 metres.

And we set off again.

As we drop back down to near sea level, we navigate the final few curves on the B500.

Passing through quant towns like Bad Peterstal-Griesbach on our way back to the A5 autobahn.

Grabbing some V-Power fuel at our now familiar local Shell station.

Tomorrow we start heading north back towards Ireland.
