Targa to the Black Forest, Germany: Conclusion
Thank you all for following along with us to the Black Forest in Germany and back again.
In 9 days we did 3,569 km over 50:06 hours, with an average speed of 72 km/h, consuming 10.1 litres/100km.
We had 40,084 views on this blog during the trip; not bad for a new domain just building its audience and readership.
The car performed flawlessly outside of the roof trim tearing itself off.
We enjoyed the hikes, the curves and the autobahns that Germany offered as well as a decent taste of winter weather.

And we discovered that the promise by Porsche that the Targa is the "cold weather convertible" is true.
Open-roof driving in sub-zero temperatures is incredible. It creates a deeper connection with your surroundings, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in both the sights and the smells.

We considered this trip to be a practice session for some longer planned journeys and learnt a lot about living with and "in" a 911 Targa.
We've decided that while the hard cases fit, the inflexible and awkward rear cases are too stiff and soft bags would be a better fit.

We've ordered the Porsche Design Urban Eco Weekender bags. They are easy enough to carry out to the car as they are designed to clip into the hard-cases we use in our frunk.

This will leave us with 77 litres (45 frunk case + 32 weekend bag) of storage each.
Epic arctic trip upcoming
We head on a Scandinavian arctic adventure to the Ice Hotel in Sweden and Norway on an epic 6,500 km trip in early February. Putting us and our 911 Targa through its paces in -25C temperatures.
We'd love for you to join us.
