Day 7: Rest day around Kiruna (Sweden)
After a long 3,800 km drive to reach Kiruna, we took today "off" to rest, not drive and not do anything much.
Kiruna is Sweden's northernmost city, sitting some 200km above the Arctic Circle deep in Swedish Lapland.
It's a town defined by iron ore — the vast LKAB mine that has made it an industrial powerhouse is also the reason the entire city has been undergoing one of the most extraordinary urban relocations in history, with buildings, streets, and even the iconic century-old wooden church physically moved several kilometres to prevent them sinking into the ground as mining operations expand beneath them

With our car setting in the cold – also taking its rest after the long trip up here.

And as the sun sets – early in this part of the world.

We head up to the rooftop bar for some drinks.

A nice end to this very lazy and relaxing Friday the 13th!
