Chasing the northern lights isn’t simple. We spend long, cold nights watching forecasts, driving remote snowy roads, and hoping for a break in the clouds. Most times nature wins—but the rare moments when the aurora finally appears feel extraordinary after everything we endure.

Disko Bay and the Ilulissat Icefjord reveal the Arctic at its most humbling—golden light, drifting ice giants, and humpbacks feeding before their migration. September brings calm seas, crisp air, and moments where whales and towering icebergs share the same quiet stage.
The Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis
The aurora first revealed itself to us in Senja in 2022—quiet, surreal, and unforgettable. Two years of clouded-out attempts in Lofoten and Tromsø only sharpened the chase, before a spectacular 2025 Tromsø display finally showed us the Arctic at its best.
